Abstract

Detection of DNA repeats can be used for phylogenic studies and disease diagnosis. The numerical representation of nucleotide sequences is very important, as many of the methods for detecting DNA repeats are part of the digital signal processing field. Here we investigate the application of spectrograms using different DNA numerical representations to identify alpha satellite higher order repeats.
