Abstract

The purpose of the presented experiment was to measure the hand grip force that can be considered as an indicator of muscle fatigue in different positions of the right forearm of a healthy subject. Several muscle activity studies were performed by simultaneously recordings of hand grip force and EMG signals from various muscle groups. There were considered three positions of the wrist: intermediate, full extension and full flexion. Each record was analyzed taking into account the signal shape, amplitude, duration and frequency, both for agonist and antagonist muscle and the relationship between them. Based on the obtained correlation, at a considered moment of the exercise, both the grasping force and the electrical signals of the muscles can be determined.
