Abstract

In the last couple of years much development has been carried out in the field of vibrating tillage implements. Vibrating externally-driven tillage tools are not always advantageous in terms of energy saving. For draught with rigid tools, the power spectral density shows that energy transport takes place fluently up to 50 Hz. For tillage tools generating vibration with different springs, without external drive, the natural frequency can be reduced to resonate with the excitation (i.e. the draught). To realise this aim, four experimental ploughs and one cultivator version were designed. The natural frequency was set at 20–30 Hz for these tools. During the process it was tuned: the resonance was measured at 8–15 Hz. Based on the test results we can state that there is a natural frequency period in that range, when the draught force requirement of the experimental vibrating tools is significant smaller than that of the rigid tools.
