Abstract
The article begins by proposing a theory of change to interpret and encompass the modern challenges of university transformation. Next, it moves into the discussion of four key levers of institutional change: the role of structure, culture, leadership, and governance. The last section establishes the relationship between effective transformation and meaning. In this respect, meaning is presented as the highest stage of a value chain moving upward from raw data and information to knowledge, learning, and meaning-building.
