Abstract
The aim of this work is to set up Monte Carlo dose calculation models for a breast cancer treatment with the combination of the MammoSite brachytherapy and external beam radiotherapy techniques using patient CT data. The Monte Carlo models have been verified with measurements. The results indicate that accurate models have been constructed. The concepts of equivalent dose and biological effective dose are used to combine the 3D dose distribution from the two modalities.
