Network Transmission of 3D Mesh Data Using Progressive Representation

Abstract

In this chapter we focused on progressive meshes which are the way to hierarchically represent 3D objects. We present the Me3d system developed to process and present digitalized 3D objects. The distributed transmission of 3D meshes over the communication line is discussed.
