Zusammenfassung

Religion ist besonders in Europa strikte Privatsache. Darüber hinaus gehört es zur therapeutischen Grundhaltung, sich hinsichtlich persönlicher Themen wie der eigenen Weltanschauung und Glaubensüberzeugungen abstinent zu verhalten. Andererseits weisen empirische Studien nach, dass positive Glaubensüberzeugungen enorme Bewältigungs- und Heilungspotenziale in sich bergen. Das Kapitel berichtet über Wirksamkeitsbefunde bei der Einbeziehung spiritueller Interventionen, stellt die Bedeutung der weltanschaulichen Passung zwischen Psychotherapeut und Klient dar und benennt Voraussetzungen für die professionelle Einbeziehung spiritueller Interventionen.
