Zusammenfassung
Im Jahr 1955 hat der Zahlentheoretiker Martin Kneser im Jahresbericht der Deutschen Mathematiker-Vereinigung ein harmlos aussehendes Problem gestellt, das zu einer der großen Herausforderungen der Graphentheorie wurde, die erst dreiundzwanzig Jahre später László Lovász mit einer brillanten und völlig unerwarteten Lösung unter Verwendung des „Borsuk-Ulam-Satzes“ aus der Topologie gemeistert hat.
