Der behandelnde Arzt wird nur selten mit Wirbelfrakturen im Kindesalter konfrontiert, gleichzeitig herrscht eine große Unsicherheit hinsichtlich der richtigen Diagnostik und Therapie. Eine adäquate Therapie setzt daher einige Grundkenntnisse über anatomische Besonderheiten und differenzierte Behandlungsstrategien im Kindes- und Jugendalter voraus..
