Zusammenfassung

Die supraaortalen extrakraniellen Gefäße beinhalten den Truncus brachiocephalicus sowie die paarig angelegte A. carotis communis (ACC) inkl. der A. carotis interna (ACI) und A. carotis externa (ACE), die A. subclavia und die A. vertebralis. Klinisch relevante Gefäßläsionen (Plaquestenosen, Verschlüsse) befinden sich am häufigsten im Bereich der Karotisbifurkation, seltener im Abgangsbereich der A. subclavia, der A. vertebralis, oder des Truncus brachiocephalicus. Atherosklerotische Läsionen stellen die häufigsten Pathologien dar, gefolgt von Dissektionen und Aneurysmen.
