Abstract

Properties of particles in matter/media attract interest in many ways. It is believed that these properties are influenced by the surroundings through the interaction between the two. The present scenario: of how the mass of the basic particles is formed is based on the idea that the vacuum is also a kind of medium with a condensate of Higgs bosons. This condensation is realized during the cooling down of the universe at around T ~100 GeV after the Big Bang. Therefore, to detect the Higgs boson is one of the major goals of the LHC project at CERN.

Acknowldgments

The author is grateful to all the collaborators for the useful discussion. The author thanks especially Dr. H. Ohnishi and Dr. F. Sakuma for their contribution to the idea of ø-bound state search, Dr. T. Suzuki and Dr. H. Outa for the idea of possible extension of the kaonic atom experiments at J-PARC, and finally Dr. H. Fujioka for the idea of the ?p tagging method applicability for K - pp search experiment at J-PARC.
