Abstract
Development of bismuth telluride-based thermo-elements over half a century. Description of basic properties. Comparison of aligned crystals with sintered material. Reduction of the thermal conductivity in solid solutions. Optimisation for different regions of temperature. Improvements using fine-grained material and nanostructures.
