Abstract
Sub-10-fs pulses allow real time observation of coherent phonons in aligned bundles of single-walled carbon nanotubes. A complex polarization dependence of the G band phonon amplitude in the transient reflectivity is explained by the superposition of G-band phonons with different symmetries.
