Zusammenfassung

Der große österreichische Komponist Gustav Mahler hat einmal ausgerufen: »Die einzige Wahrheit auf der Erde ist unser Gefühl!«. Damit verdeutlicht er unser Ausgeliefertund Abhängigsein von Gefühlen und hat – wie auch in seiner Musik – ausgedrückt, was wir auch psychobiologisch heute zu wissen glauben: Jene Hirnregionen, die Gefühlszustände erzeugen, liegen in der Mehrzahl zwischen den phylogenetisch sehr alten Strukturen des Stammhirns und den neokortikalen Hemisphären.
