Abstract

Syndactyly type Lueken is characterized by variable syndactyly of the digits of the hands and feet. The least severely affected show syndactyly type I, also called zygodactyly, a term referring to complete or partial webbing between digits III and IV and/or complete or partial webbing between toes II and III. In the most severe cases, there is complete syndactyly of fingers II–V, the thumb is spared, and there is syndactyly of all toes, including the hallux. In severe cases, bony fusion of the distal phalanges can be observed. Penetrance is incomplete.
