Zusammenfassung
Die Gasturbine (GT) ist heute weltweit eine der wichtigsten Komponenten in der Energieversorgung. Ihr Einsatz reicht vom reinen Gasturbinenbetrieb zur Abdeckung von Spitzenlastbedarf und Sofortreserve mit wenigen Betriebsstunden im Jahr bis hin zu den kombinierten Gas- und Dampfturbinenprozessen für den Mittel- und Grundlasteinsatz.
Lagen vor etwa 25 Jahren die Gasturbinenwirkungsgrade noch bei 25 bis 28%, so erreicht man derzeit (Stand 2009) 40% und in der Kombination mit einer Dampfturbine nun bereits 60%. Wirkungsgrad, niedrige spezifische Investitionskosten, kurze Errichtungszeiten und niedrige Emissionen begründen die heutigen Erfolge von Gasturbinen in der Kraftwerkstechnik.
