Zusammenfassung

Es existiert eine große Vielzahl verschiedener angeborener degenerativer und metabolisch-toxischer Erkrankungen, denen genetische Mutationen in sehr verschiedenen Stoffwechselsystemen zugrunde liegen können und die unterschiedliche funktionelle Systeme betreffen können. Überwiegend sind diese Erkrankungen sehr selten, viele enden schon im Kleinkindesalter letal. Magnetresonanztomographisch manifestieren sich die Krankheitsbilder zerebral oft mit einer Leukodystrophie bzw. einer Leukenzephalopathie.
