Verletzungen im Kindesalter sind die häufigste Ursache für stationäre Behandlungen und bis zum 16. Lebensjahr auch die häufigste Todesursache. Die umfangreiche Problematik der Kindertraumatologie mit den Skelett- und Weichteilverletzungen soll hier nicht im Zentrum der Betrachtungen stehen, da Lehrbücher über die Skelettver-letzungen, die Verletzungen der Muskeln, Sehnen und Nerven in ausreichender Zahl und Kompetenz zur Verfügung stehen.
