Zusammenfassung
Die mehrfach ungesättigten Fischölfettsäuren werden therapeutisch bei kardiovaskulären, allergischen und immunologischen Erkrankungen eingesetzt. Ihre Hemmwirkung auf die Tumorentstehung und -ausbreitung sowie ihre Rolle in der Transplantationsmedizin wird derzeit noch untersucht. Dieses breite Wirkspektrum ergibt sich durch ihre vielfältigen Eigenschaften als Hemmstoffe der Eicosanoidbiosynthese, als Strukturelemente der Zellmembran und Botenstoffe der Signaltransduktion.
