Abstract

A geospatial catalogue service provides the capabilities to advertise and discover shared data and services over the Web. Description Information (Metadata) for data and services is stored and organized in a catalogue service to allow search. The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)’s Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW) has been defined by industry consensus. It is a standard interface to online catalogs of geographic information and Web-accessible geoprocessing services. CSW specifies interfaces, HTTP protocol bindings, and an abstract information model for defining application profiles required to publish and access digital catalogues of metadata for geographic data, services, and related resource information (Nebert and Whiteside, 2005). OGC has developed and recommended an ebRIM profile of CSW for implementing a catalogue service (Martell, 2004).

  1. 1.

Terrain_Slope is not conceptualized from the GCMD keyword. It is defined by extending entity classes in the GCMD ontology.
