Dieses Kapitel beschreibt das Prinzip der Intention-to-Treat Analyse im Vergleich zu anderen Auswertungsstrategien für randomisierte klinische Studien. Es werden allgemeine Empfehlungen für die Auswertung gegeben sowie Implikationen für die Planung und Durchführung klinischer Studien beschrieben. Drei Beispiele klinischer Studien dienen der Illustration verschiedener Auswertungsstrategien.
