Domain Observation and Interpretation

  • Chapter
Magnetic Domains

In this chapter a systematic overview over observed domain patterns is given, linking them with domain-theoretical concepts. After introducing a classification of magnetic materials from the viewpoint of their magnetic microstructure, the most important among these classes are presented and analysed. Special emphasis is put on the role of domains in reversible and irreversible magnetization processes.
