Smoke Test

The smoke test has a lot of similarities with the sanity check; the process of both tests is more or less the same. The main difference between the tests is the time at which they are run and the object they focus on. The sanity check is run earlier on in the test project and focuses on the system design and the testware. The smoke test focuses on the system that is to be tested and is run on the installed and configured test environment (see Sect. 15.5).
