Die Firma Kostal ist ein mittelständischer Automobilzulieferer mit Stammhaus in Lüdenscheid, der an 27 Standorten in 14 Ländern mit ca. 11.000 Mitarbeitern mechatronische Produkte herstellt. Der weltweite Umsatz betrug 2006 dabei ca. 1,2 Mrd. Euro. Das Unternehmen wurde 1912 gegründet und befindet sich seitdem ununterbrochen in Familienbesitz.
