Abstract
Thoracscopic upper thoracic sympathectomy is a well established procedure for the treatment of primary palmer and axillary hyperhidrosis in children and adolescents. Earyl intervention before developing learning and social problems is recommended in affected children.
The procedure is carried out under general anesthesia in semi-sitting position with abducted uper limbs and achieved bilaterally via single 10mm, 0 degreee endoscope with working 5mm channel. Endoscopic ablation of T2-T3 sympathetic fibers for palmar and T2-T4 for both palmar and axilliary hyperhidrosis is performed by electrocautery with Endohook. Different technical variations of the procedure exist.
