Sexualität ist eine im Biologischen verankerte, aber nicht notwendig manifest werdende Form des Erlebens (Buddeberg 2004). Nachdem sich die Wissenschaft lange Zeit vorwiegend auf biologische Faktoren der Krebserkrankung konzentriert hat, gewinnen die Lebensqualität und damit auch die Sexualität für die Forschung zunehmend an Bedeutung.
