Abstract

Malignancies of the parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands account for approximately 4% of all head and neck cancers. A total of 80% of malignant major salivary gland tumors occur in the parotid gland. In adults, roughly a quarter of parotid tumors and one half of submandibular tumors are malignant.
