Abstract

Pediatric CNS malignancies represent 20% of all pediatric malignancies, and approximately 3,000 cases occur in the United States annually. CNS malignancies are the most frequent tumors in childhood after hematological malignancies and require a multidisciplinary management. Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy play a prominent role in the management of nearly all pediatric CNS malignancies; however, the selection of treatment is based on the pathology as well as the extent of the disease.
