Abstract

Soft tissue sarcomas are uncommon tumors that can arise from any of a number of mesenchymal cell types. A little over half of these tumors arise from extremities, a little over a third arise from within the abdomen/pelvis (retroperitoneal and visceral), and 10% or so arise from the head and neck.
