Abstract
Malignant or high-grade gliomas account for approximately half of all primary brain tumors in adults. Malignant gliomas include anaplastic gliomas which are classified as WHO Grade III, and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) which is classified as WHO Grade IV. GBM accounts for about 75% of high-grade gliomas in adults, and anaplastic gliomas account for the remaining 25% of highgrade gliomas. Surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy are important therapeutic modalities in the curative treatment of high-grade gliomas.
