Abstract
A perspective on the current overall United States (US) Electrical Power Industry situation is provided; including:
-
US generation capacity over the past 40 years was mainly accomplished in several major surges.
-
Certain regions of the US will require new generation capacity soon.
-
Large coal unit, natural gas and wind generating capacity are being added. Nuclear units are in the planning phases.
-
US Environmental Agency mandated emissions reductions have substantially reduced the environmental impact of new and existing fossil units.
-
•New transmission line installation is planned that will improve the current restrictive situation.
