Flows in Porous Media: The Variable Exponent Case

Partial differential equations with nonlinearities involving variable exponents have attracted an increasing amount of attention in recent years. The development, mainly by Růžička , of a theory modeling the behavior of electrorheological fluids, an important class of non-Newtonian fluids, seems to have boosted a still far from completed effort to study and understand this type of equations. Other important applications relate to image processing , elasticity  or flows in porous media .
