Intermediate Uveitis

  • Chapter
Intraocular Inflammation

Abstract

While probably first reported by Ernst Fuchs in 1908 [1] as “chronic cyclitis,” this disease was later termed “peripheral uveitis” by Schepens [2] and continuously described with all the known clinical signs and complications by his group [3]. Welch et al. [4] were the first to bring up the term “pars planitis” which today sometimes is used synonymous to intermediate uveitis.
