Abstract
Mathematical modeling is the basis of many of the sciences. Application of mathematical models has increased rapidly and has spread to most disciplines, and there is reason to believe that this trend will continue to accelerate in the foreseeable future. But, what exactly is mathematical modeling? And, more important, how does it work?
