Abstract
Wireless communication systems are designed to provide high data rates reliably for a wide range of velocities of the mobile terminals. One important design approach to increase the spectral efficiency1 envisions multiple transmit or receive antennas, i.e., Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems, to increase the spectral efficiency.
It is defined as the data rate normalized by the utilized frequency band.
