Abstract

This paper is part of a research project started wity [xc2] and [xc3] aiming to use Hamiltonian methods to study second order conditions in optimal control. It is the opinion of the authors that a complete understanding of the problem in Hamiltonian terms will lead to a deeper insight into the synthesis problem.
