Abstract

In this chapter we investigate steady flows at low Reynolds number, restricting ourselves to incompressible flows, which of course include gas flows at low Mach number. The equations of motion are already known (see (4.35)), and may be expr essed in the form:

$$ \nabla\,p=\eta\Delta\vec{u}\,. $$
((1))

To this we add the continuity equation (2.5):

$$ \nabla\cdot\vec{u}=0\,. $$
((2))
