Abstract
Business process models specify the activities, with their relationships, that are performed within a single organization, i.e., they specify process orchestrations. A process engine acts as a centralized agent to control process orchestrations. Process orchestrations provide a detailed view on the activities of processes and their execution constraints. This chapter is organized as follows.
