Hauptvertreter der Hypophysen und Hypothalamushormone sind Wachstumshormon, Somatostatin, Gonadotropinpräparate und Vasopressinanaloga. Wachstumshormonpräparate haben ihre bisherige Aufwärtsentwicklung fortgesetzt und sind mit einem Umsatz von 157 Mio. € die umsatzstärkste Gruppe der Hypophysen und Hypothalamushormone. An zweiter Stelle folgt Somatostatin (56 Mio. €), während Follitropinpräparate mit 43 Mio. € nach den geänderten Kostenregelungen für die künstliche Befruchtung seit 2004 deutlich seltener eingesetzt werden. Die Verordnungen der Vasopressinanaloga für die Behandlung des zentralen Diabetes insipidus blieben konstant.
