Abstract
Thie final chapter considers the kinetics of void transport in the initiation step of phase change, the formation of a new nucleus. The nonuniformity of the medium becomes a central issue. The final section discusses a wave mechanism for propagation of a new phase, a mechanism of phase transition different from conventional nucleation.
