Abstract

The nature of disordered states and the roles of voids in such states are the central topics of this chapter. Diffusion of voids is an important aspect, from which the kinetics of changes in such states can be analyzed. The chapter discusses the formation of glassy states, and their relation to other states, gaseous, liquid and crystalline. The special case of a glassy state of repelling particles is included. In the discussion.
