Ein 28-jähriger kaufmännischer Angestellter wurde wegen anhaltender, diffuser, rechtsseitiger Schulterschmerzen zugewiesen. Die bisherigen Abklärungen der Schulter wie auch der Hals- und Brustwirbelsäule zeigten keine Erklärungen für die Schmerzursache (Abb. 43.1). Physikalische Maßnahmen, chiropraktische Behandlungen oder Akupunktur blieben erfolglos. Eine Beschwerdelinderung wurde einzig durch Einnahme von Vioxx erzielt. Diese Medikation wurde im Anschluss an eine interdisziplinäre (Anästhesie, Neurologie, Psychiatrie, Rheumatologie) schmerzspezifische Beureilung begonnen.
