Der klinisch-infektiologische Fall

Ein 14-jähriger Junge stellt sich wegen hochakut einsetzender allgemeiner Schwäche, Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit und Brechreiz in der Notaufnahme einer Hamburger Klinik vor. Weiterhin klagt er über Brustschmerzen beim Atmen und ein Gefühl von Luftnot. Noch in der Notaufnahme kommt es zu einer schnellen Zunahme der Atemnot bis zur vollständigen respiratorischen Insuffizienz. Zusätzlich fallen weite lichtstarre Pupillen auf. Der Patient wird wegen der fortgeschrittenen Atemlähmung sofort intubiert, maschinell beatmet und auf die Intensivstation einer Kinderklinik verlegt. Unter der Verdachtsdiagnose einer zerebralen Blutung wird ein kraniales CT veranlasst. Die erste Anamnese ist unauffällig, kein Trauma erinnerlich und keine Reiseanamnese.
