Abstract

In the previous chapters we presented several ways to treat dynamical systems from the fuzzy sets theory point of view, considering particular epidemic scenarios. We have discussed some approaches highlighting the advantages and limitations of each technique. However, all structures presented were macro-epidemic-models, that is, the epidemic spreading depends on the global variables and does not consider what happens inside each individual in the population. The only exception is the fuzzy modeling in symptomatic HIV infected population, presented in chapter 10, in which the fuzzy transference rate developed was based on the Nowak’s micro model (Nowak, 1999).
