The Northern Deanery Mentoring and Professional Development Programme provides a benehmark mentor development programme for the UK National Health Service (NHS). The programme, led by Nancy Redfern from the Northern Deanery. provides multidisciplinary training and development programmes for health care staff in the northeast of the UK as well as other areas around the country — particularly, Yorkshire, Oxford, Portsmouth and Northampton. Nancy believes that building a network of well-trained mentors is essential to creating a “critical mass” of people to contribute to cultural change within the NHS.
