QSO Absorption Lines: Progress, Problems and Opportunities

  • Conference paper
QSO Absorption Lines

Part of the book series: ESO Astrophysics Symposia ((ESO))

Abstract

Some brief impressions are given of the changes that have taken place in our view of the nature of QSO absorption lines over the last two decades. Some comments are next made on what is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting current problems, as well as the opportunities that the new generation of space and ground-based facilities, together with detailed numerical modeling, afford for its solution.
