Abstract
During the last decade a lot of research work has been done with alexandrite acting as a laser material [1]. Attractive laser properties, particularly the long lifetime of the excited level of the laser transition (262 µs) and the good thermal conductivity permitted attainment of a high repetition rate tunable solid-state Q-switched laser working at room temperature.
