Abstract
Photothermal spectroscopy allows to determine the light absorption within a sample depth-resolved because of the thermal diffusion length depending on the chopping frequency. Therefore, it can be used to evaluate concentration profiles of topically applied light absorbing drugs in the upper layers of human skin. A new experimental setup with Mirage-Effect detection for in vivo-measurements is described which considerably increases the measuring depth and the accuracy of the measurements at low chopping frequencies.
