Abstract

Electron energy loss spectroscopy is the name for an experimental technique in which electrons with a well-defined energy are scattered from a target and where the energy distribution, and frequently also the angular distribution, of the scattered electrons is measured. The generally used acronyms for the technique are HREELS (High Resolution Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy) or EELS.
