Bragg Solitons: Theory and Experiments

  • Chapter
Spatial Solitons

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Optical Sciences ((SSOS,volume 82))

Summary

We discuss the propagation of Bragg solitons in one dimensional nonlinear periodic structures, such fibre Bragg gratings and corrugated semiconductor waveguide structures. Such solitons exhibit a wealth of exciting phenomena, such as slow propagation, pulse compression, and optical switching.
